Are you Capitalizing on all your Lead Generation Opportunities?


        Is there anything more frustrating than not being able to take full advantage of the leads that you have worked so diligently to gather?  If your business is that of an inbound marketer, chances are the answer to this is a definitive no.  So what do you do to ensure that you are taking full advantage of all of your lead generating opportunities and take your inbound marketing efforts to the next level?

        Many business owners and marketers alike mainly focus on website traffic and concrete leads such as those generated from places like LinkedIn and face to face meetings.  But what about those leads that are being generated from social media outlets?  While they are not directly leads that you can write down on paper they are none the less people who have seen your product and have had the opportunity to reach. 

sales lead generation        The ability to combine your products and or services into a social media strategy is something that is extremely effective for an inbound marketing campaign.  It is a way to reach 100’s if not 1000’s of people within a specific target market.  Generally people who are not interested in your product won’t be a follower or subscriber to your content. If they do fall into this group of uninterested people, the percentages are very small.  Here are a few tips in making this effort more successful:

  • Become an expert in your field.  Those who become an expert in their field can become a market leader.  People want to follow those whose content is accurate, precise and interesting.
  • Work to vary your content; content that becomes stale and repetitive will often be overlooked or unsubscribe from.
  • The use of a content marketing platform will assure your thoughts, ideas and products are distributed to all media outlets and seen by all of your followers and content subscribers. 

Lastly, the use of question and answer forums have become something that is being utilized by business owners with a very high success rate.  Often a product your company is selling or service that you are offering is something that someone is already searching for.  Giving your audience a place to ask questions and interact with the people behind the products will not only set you apart from much of your competition, but it will also give you the chance to leave a lasting impression. 

Using social media outlets such as Twitter and Facebook lets you expand your following and find out what keywords and phrases are trending via Twitters “tweet mention” and “link trending” matrices.   With these matrices, it is easy to not only see which are the best times of the day to mention certain things but also to what extent certain types of products and services are being mentioned. 

        As you can see, optimizing lead generation and traffic is something that can be complex and tedious. However when utilized to its fullest can bring a return to your inbound marketing efforts that is unlike anything else.
